Allan L. Horvath Publications is a small publishing firm devoted to coffee-table books about Ohio, especially southwestern Ohio. These books focus on the natural and historical aspects of the region, with numerous photos from a variety of photographers.
The firm was originally organized by siblings in Dayton as Allan L. Horvath Memorial Publications after Allan L. Horvath's death in 1983, in order to distribute the first edition of his book THE HILLS OF HOCKING. A younger brother, graphic artist Eugene Horvath, did the layout and arranged for the printing of the Hocking book in 1986, through his company, Horvath Sculpture & Graphics, of Rockford, Illinois.
The new name of the company, Allan L. Horvath Publications, started in 1996 with the publishing of A PLACE CALLED AULLWOOD, which celebrated Aullwood Garden and Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm, places which were favorite haunts of Horvath.
